What it was Like to Experience Spiritual Existence

Breathtaking is the simple answer. Comforting is the philosophical answer. I now know what spiritual life will be like and it’s amazing.

The event started simply enough.   I was getting ready for work – brushing my teeth, combing my hair, the usual stuff.  Then things changed.  I suddenly felt different. I was nauseous for a brief moment, like I had the flu.  Then, I felt peaceful and serene beyond anything I’d ever experienced before or since.

For anyone who’s had surgery where they’ve received a strong painkiller such as morphine knows the powerful pain relief that the painkiller provides. The physical side of being a spiritual host was almost exactly like that.  The difference, though, is that I also experienced complete emotional and mental serenity.  I literally felt no worldly worries or concerns.  I was totally at peace, inspired and joyful.

When it was over, I went back to the normal aches, pains, and worries that I normally experienced. Would I be late for work? Would traffic be bad? All of the things we consciously or subconsciously ruminate without always being aware that we are.  The difference was compelling.

This brief experience let me know that spiritual existence will be truly wonderous and far different from our daily human existence. But, that’s the reason why we’re here. To experience the good and the bad feelings and sensations that only come through human existence.

It’s not possible to experience those feelings and sensations in Heaven. We can only have those experiences here, so we’re given the opportunity to do so and we remember the things we learn from them when we return to Heaven.

People who’ve had near death experiences say the same thing – we remember all that we learn here on earth when we return to Heaven. They find that out in Heaven and then are able to tell of their experiences when they return to earthly existence.

Both my niece and I were fortunate to be able to experience spiritual existence without going through a near death experience. We both acknowledge that we remember everything we knew during the experience and that the only thing that was different was the overwhelming serenity. It’s what have to look forward to.

Jesus 38, Scientists 0

Technology and science have provided us with many modern conveniences – world-wide communications over wireless networks, internet access to almost every form of content created, and rapid transit that makes getting anywhere in the world safe and fast. All of those advances, it can arguably be said, have increased our quality of life significantly over previous generations and we have science and technology to thank for that.

But theories like the “Big Bang without God” and “the Multiverse Theory” fronted by numerous famous, secular scientists turn factual science on its head and dramatically reduces the positive influence of science and technology – almost turning into something mendacious. When mankind, no matter how learned, chooses to ignore the universal natural truths provided so long ago, then they’ve gone too far.

Do these theories arise simply because we haven’t directly heard these truths in such a long time that they no longer seem relevant? Or is it the age-old desire by some men to turn themselves into gods?

It’s amazing that some scientists continually want to proclaim that ‘we’ve discovered the final proof’ about the origin of species and the universe despite the fact that scientific discovery has been continuous and ever-changing and new discoveries have frequently disproved previous theories. What drives these elements of humanity to continually want to define a ‘end game’ to scientific discovery instead of accepting that there’s still a universe of technology we don’t understand?

And, how far have we really progressed? Are these discoveries really that astounding or are they part of the progression of things that we are allowed to learn and master to enhance our spiritual learning experiences here on earth?

To examine how far our technology and science has really progressed, let’s take a look Jesus Christ’s miracles from two thousand years ago and compare it with modern 21st century technology. Below is a table that compares the 37 documented miracles of Christ and compares it to how many of those miracles scientists have been able to re-create with modern technology.

Sorry scientists – the final score is Christ 37, Scientists 0. Not a single miracle has been recreated. True, we’re ‘close’ to doing some of these things, but close does not count! Obviously, Jesus had some incredibly sophisticated technology at his command that far exceeds anything we currently have.

In addition, all of Christ’s miracles have also been thoroughly documented through multiple accounts or as scientists like to call it, ‘peer-reviewed’. Skeptics and secularists will dispute this by saying … well, all of those accounts were just a mass delusion. But, if it was, the very nature of such a widespread ‘mass delusion’ would be an amazing accomplishment unto itself.

Then there’s the technology of the Shroud of Turin – a 3D holographic image created through an energy source analogous to a small nuclear explosion. It wasn’t until very recently, with the evolution of sophisticated 3D graphics, that the nature of the imprint on the Shroud was finally determined. Many secularists had argued that the image of Christ on the shroud was ‘painted on’ in the 14th or 15th century. But now, scientific experts have been able to determine that the image is actually a 3D holographic image imprinted on a 2D surface.

This discovery was disclosed in a highly watched History Channel broadcast in the spring of 2010. It was provided by Ray Downing, the scientist that created of the 3D imaging technology that produced the “real face of Jesus” from the image of the crucified man in the Shroud of Turin.

“The Shroud of Turin provides actual scientific proof that Jesus rose from the dead,” Downing contended. He said the shroud is encoded with a message undecipherable until the most recent advances of modern particle physics. This technology is obviously much more sophisticated and powerful than any technology we have or are likely to have soon.

The Shroud of Turin miracle makes the final score – Christ 38, Scientists 0 – but I don’t think God was really looking to run up the score.

When and if humanity is ever allowed to even fully recreate any of Christ’s miracles in the same way in which he did them – i.e., without tons of special gadgets and instruments – then we might be able to conclude that we’ve been allowed to unlock some of the scientific mystery of God’s universe.

Until then, as a scientist, I’ll thank God for benevolently using such awesome technology to provide us with an earthly existence through which we all can learn and grow spiritually.

Review: The History Channel’s “The Bible”

When Louis Lumiere and Thomas Edison were working on the invention of motions pictures, it’s possible to imagine that one of the things they envisioned was that movies could bring history to life.  Throughout the past century and since the first cinematic creations, the results were typically more a miss than a hit.  Over-acting and over the top production techniques turned many historical dramas into more of a cliché, than a faithful accounting.

The History Channel’s “The Bible” mini-series is one of those few exceptions that delivers on the promise of movie media.  It’s riveting – because it’s faithful to the historical events – at least as much as possible without dragging on endlessly – and emphasizes the story through acting that was realistic and human.  It’s so well done that it was almost like watching a documentary.  It’s a historical treatise that way that it should be done.

Most impressive was how the main message of Christ’s life was emphasized. The universal truth communicated thousands of years ago is as powerful today as it was then.  God and the universe in which we exist is about love.  Evil also exists, in order to create the challenges we need to learn from and gain spiritual wisdom, but love is the essence of existence and through God and love all things are possible.

My first hand experience as a spiritual host was that the serenity, bliss, and love of spiritual existence is beyond our imagination.  We experience some of it here among our family and friends but not nearly with the intensity and depth of spiritual existence. The promise of a wonderous spiritual existence was aptly presented, but without insight into what spiritual existence is actually like, it’s only possible to speak about it as a promise.

Let me supplement that promise. Spiritual existence, at least from my very brief exposure to it, is phenomenal. Not only for what is there, but also for what is no longer there.  Thank you History Channel for this wonderfully epic mini-series.

Science and Technology – Friend or Foe?

Is science and technology the root of new evil? It could be if we make it a God-substitute. If we do, we’ve gone too far. Unfortunately, there seems to a growing trend in that direction. Our accelerating pace of science and technology is making some believe that we can disprove God and Heaven’s existence. Such would be the ultimate folly of mankind.

Having been a part of science and technology for a considerable time, I’ve seen a lot of the advances first hand – and they are wondrous. The 20th century provided a quantum leap in our science and technology and the 21st century has continued that trend. We are solving problems and providing capabilities now that never seemed possible mere years ago.

But, to put it in perspective, we’re nowhere near determining when our spirit enters our body and when it departs. We have no way to measure it and can’t even give a reasonable scientific estimation. To blunt this fact, some scientists dismiss the notion of having a soul as fantasy, rather than acknowledging that we aren’t even close to understanding the soul’s science or technology.

Science and technology have enabled us to make many wonderful advances throughout history. But to deny that we still are technological novices and don’t understand many of the universe’s technologies is ludicrous.

The reason we’re seeing high profile Near Death Experience and Proof of Heaven stories is because those are on the Other Side are becoming concerned about our increased intransigence. I believe I was chosen to communicate about the Proof of Heaven’s existence is to provide a science and technology-based demur about this trend.

Science and technology are great tools. But they are not to be worshipped – and certainly, in no way, to serve as a God-substitute or to attempt to disprove God and Heaven’s existence. In fact, the information my family and I were provided with makes it abundantly clear that there is far more to the world than we understand and that we should never assume that our advances in science and technology can or will disprove that.

Proof of Heaven Book Free Excerpt – Chapter 4

Mom’s Post Death Visitations

After Mom’s funeral, we picked up the pieces of our lives and returned to our regular routines. Dad went to Florida to visit my brother’s family. Sis and Pete returned to San Antonio. I traveled from Indianapolis to Des Moines, Iowa on a business trip.

I rented a car and drove the entire distance from Indianapolis to Des Moines, because a blizzard that started in the middle of Mom’s funeral had blanketed the entire region with wind-driven snow. All of the flights throughout the Midwest had been canceled. I knew that Mom wanted the day of her funeral to be memorable, but this was ridiculous. It was the first and only major snowstorm that Indianapolis had that year.

One morning a week later, in mid-January, I was getting ready for work and suddenly felt ill. I felt like I had the flu. I was nauseous and felt feverish. I looked in the mirror, but didn’t notice anything unusual about my face. I looked fine. I didn’t appear flushed or really any different than normal.

Just as suddenly and as though the nausea had never occurred, I felt a strong sense of blissful serenity that I’d never experienced before and have never experienced since. It took me a moment to comprehend what was happening. The feeling of serenity was so profound. Every ache and pain in my body disappeared. I knew it could only be one thing. I looked in the mirror and said “Mom, you’re here with me now, aren’t you?” After a while, my normal aches and pains returned and I went to work.

I was reluctant to speak with anyone about what I experienced, but felt comfortable talking to Sis about it. After all that we’d experienced together during Mom’s final six months, I knew she’d understand that I wasn’t hallucinating. She said that it didn’t sound strange at all.

Sis told me Jana had called her the night before and was in tears. She said that “Grandma was with me for three days”, during a very prolonged job interview process. She told me that Jana’s experience sounded very similar to my experience.

Jana was trying to find work in the fashion industry in New York City. She’d moved there from San Antonio to be in the US fashion headquarters. But she wasn’t having much luck. She’d been at it for over 6 months and was living on the money she made from temporary jobs. She was frustrated and demoralized. She was beginning to believe she might have to move back home with Sis and Pete. She couldn’t live in NYC on temporary job pay forever.

Shortly after Mom’s death, Jana’s fortunes reversed. She was called back to interview a second time for a job, with one of the leading fashion companies, that she’d previously been turned down for. She was put through a grueling three day interview process. At the end of the interview process, she told Sis “I felt invincible because Grandma was there with me”. She got the job a week later.

My reaction to Sis’ story about Jana was, “amazing”. After I hung up with Sis, I decided to give Jana a call and ask her about her experience. I wanted to see how similar it was to what I’d experienced. What we shared floored us both.

Jana and I both described our experience – the feeling of sudden nausea followed by the feeling of extreme serenity – exactly the same way. I also asked Jana when she had experienced her visitation. She said it was for the three days prior to my visitation from Mom.

Ironically, Jana and I are probably the two immediate family members most likely to say, “yeah, right” if we were to hear someone tell a story about that kind of experience. We’re both cynical. Neither of us believe tall tales and we look for logical reasons to explain things before jumping to other conclusions. But like my uncle and his dream about Mom and Grandmom sitting at the player piano in Heaven, we were probably given this gift to strengthen our faith and understanding about the Other Side.

My Newest Revelation from the Other Side

The most recent revelation I received shed some light on why my family and I were given Proof of Heaven’s existence. It was surprising, but not so much given what we already knew about the intentions of those who watch over us from the Other Side.

My mother was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor at a fairly young senior citizen age. The most ironic thing was that she had passed a full physical examine a mere two months before her diagnosis with flying colors.

Unto itself, that’s not that unusual. We know that people can be healthy one day and die the next. That’s even more likely with illnesses such as cancerous brain tumors which can develop out of the blue and initiate their fatal results. In knowing that, we accepted that it was just her time. But, as is always the case with someone who suddenly and unexpectedly becomes terminally ill, you’re left to wonder why.

A previously unknown element of the “why” was recently provided to us, however. We were informed that the proof about Heaven’s existence, at least to a certain extent, was provided to assuage our grief at her loss. She was taken from us early to serve as our family’s guardian angel – which was something I’d learned a long time ago. But, it wasn’t until very recently that I found out about the Other Side’s intentions to ease our sorrow.  I’ve known for a long time that the primary reason we were told was so that I could tell you.  But, this new aspect of the full story is extremely heartwarming and should make everyone feel good.

What does this say about our predecessors in Heaven/the Other Side? It speaks volumes.  It shows that they care about us deeply and will help ease our earthly burdens when they can. They’ve been through what we go through in our lives and know that it can frequently be difficult.  They won’t interfere with our lives or prevent us from making misguided decisions, but they will certainly help us to deal with the difficult ramifications of things that happen to us in our lives.

Ask for their help. You just might be amazed!

Do Psychics Have Wi-Fi in their Heads?

Of course not, but the current widespread availability of all kinds of wireless technology can finally give us a clearer understanding of what psychics experience. Much like you speak on your cell phone with someone you can’t see, psychics receive communications from spiritual beings on the other side. They have built-in receivers in their brains. It’s obviously a different communications mechanism, but the basic concept is the same.

For centuries much of humanity viewed psychic communication as scary, sacrilegious, or worse. Of course, they probably would have also viewed the use of any modern communication device in the same way. Now that wireless technology is so widespread, we can develop a better understanding of how psychics receive spiritual communication. But, that doesn’t mean science will necessarily develop a means to determine how it works. That may be a secret that’s kept from us until we return to the Other Side.

So when you think of psychics, think of cell phones.  They hear what those on the Other Side want to tell them.  But, remember, the biblical admonition is to only seek this information for good and not for evil purposes.
